The outline of the Blackbird nearly recalls the iconic single fins of the 70’s, with a more sensitive rail and a little extra tail width to accommodate a four-fin design. Ultimately, I wanted to capture some of the aesthetics of what I believe to be the most radical era on the North Shore, throwing in a few modifications and a few extra fins.

A quad setup adds its own natural speed to navigate variable conditions – like tradewind and chop – adding a little extra power and control. The ideal craft for pocket rides, full-power hacks, and long carves. A wider nose entry makes the Blackbird a paddling machine, especially useful on hollow waves, in current, larger waves and crowded days. A beaked nose hides volume and pays homage to the shapes of the past.

Takes about 5-7 weeks for a basic shortboard with removable fins. Glass on fins, resin tint or custom paint could add another week or 2 on top of that. Carbon Fiber with Epoxy resin please add 2 more weeks. Thank you for your patience.
