The outline of the Blackbird nearly recalls the iconic single fins of the 70’s, with a more sensitive rail and a little extra tail width to accommodate a four-fin design. Ultimately, I wanted to capture some of the aesthetics of what I believe to be the most radical era on the North Shore, throwing in a few modifications and a few extra fins.

This Twinzer features a modern 2+2 fin configuration: two small "canard" fins placed just in front of two larger twin fins. This design yields the effortless, down-the-line speed and looseness of a traditional twin-fin, but with significantly more grip, drive, and control in critical turns.. The ideal craft for pocket rides, full-power hacks, and long carves. A wider nose entry makes the Blackbird a paddling machine, especially useful on hollow waves, in current, larger waves and crowded days. A beaked nose hides volume and pays homage to the shapes of the past.
